I combined these 2 EPs into one post because they're both short and 3 of them are covers and Sylvia(An Introduction) is basically a demo of the entire Hospice album. You can hear bits and pieces of each song from Hospice in it which is, actually, pretty fucking cool.

Destroy The Wall Street Sundial

Roaring waves of crescendos and decrescendos, it embodies the movement of emotions. The twelve tracks on this album are enriched with dark, massive, heavy downbeats whilst sprinkled with fragile mandolin strumming that shows the depth and layered technicality rooted in the ambience/experimental genre.

Have a Nice Life's 2010 EP. Yeah they offer this for free on their site, but they mistagged stuff and nothing annoys me more then bad tagging. I've fixed the tags and reuploaded just for you guys! It isn't as amazing as Deathconsciousness is but it's pretty fucking close.

À Coeur Léger Sommeil Sanglant

destroyalldreamers's debut album attacks with a satisfyingly strong assault of shoegaze and post-rock credo. A Coeur Leger Sommeil Sanglant relies heavily on pedal effects, but luckily this band knows how to push all the right buttons to piece the album together seamlessly. Warm ambiance accompanies the slow, brooding guitars, and the tracks like Orage and Swirling Colors Sink slowly wrap the listener into a cocoon of hypnotic instrumental bliss. Fuzzy takes on a new meaning while destroyalldreamers launches the most subtle yet deafening guitar attack to date. Yeah. It's that good.

The Meaning of 8

Fucking Christ this album has one of the saddest songs I've ever listened to. I probably should have mentioned in the earlier Cloud Cult posts that the lead singer's infant son died when he was 2 in 2003(or 2002 idk). Think about the title of the album now. Realization is setting in. Your 8th Birthday made me cry like a little bitch when I listened to it for the first time after finding out about his son. Sure the other albums have songs that relate or deal with his son dying but this album probably handles the loss the most directly(did that make sense?). But amid all of their sad songs about dealing with the loss they also have a bunch of songs about being happy and all that jazz. Unfortunately this album lacks the "happy" songs that made Advice so good but never the less, I still think you should listen to this.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor third album, Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven, is structurally and conceptually closer to a symphony than a conventional pop or rock album. The four tracks are composed of internal movements, with different sub-titles, that fade into each other. The whole album is instrumental, except for sampled voice inserts, and starts with an almost orchestral crescendo somewhat reminiscent of Ravel's Bolero. Essential post-rock.
